Nearly 30 years after competing as a member of the Cowboy track and field team, Jim Bolding returns to Oklahoma State for the second straight season as a volunteer hurdling coach for the Cowgirls. In his first volunteer season, Bolding coached Alison Erzinger to a fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships and a fourth-place NCAA Regional finish in the 400-meter hurdles. Bolding helped Erzinger end the season as a semi-finalist at NCAA Outdoor Championships, as she then earned All-American honors.
During his career at OSU, Bolding was an NCAA Champion in the 400-meter hurdles and in the 400-yard hurdles. In 1972, Bolding finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.
Bolding holds the OSU school record in the 400-yard hurdles with a time of 49.5 seconds, set in 1972. He is the current world record holder in the 400-yard hurdles.
Bolding is owner of International Tours Travel Agency, in Stillwater.
