Cowboys Take Down Spartans, 28-9

OSU improved to 7-0 with the victory, while Michigan State evened its record at 2-2.
Johny Hendricks recorded a major decision and Steve Mocco recorded a fall in 63 seconds as the Cowboys already had a 16-3 lead by the time Scott wrestled at 125.
Scott got off to a good start in the first period driving third-ranked Nick Simmons to his back for a takedown and a three-point nearfall to go up 5-0. Simmons quickly reversed Scott to get on the scoreboard. The score remained 5-2 at the start of the second period. Simmons added another point with an escape early in the period.
Simmons proved why he was so tough to beat in the third period when Scott chose to start from the bottom. With a 1:14 remaining in the match, Simmons turned Scott on to his back for a short count that tied the match. Simmons then rode out the rest of the period to earn the riding time advantage and a 6-5 victory.
Nathan Morgan did not waste any time with Ryan Froese picking up a takedown seven seconds into the match. Morgan continued to be the aggressor, and had built a 10-2 advantage by the end of the first period.
Morgan had built a sizable lead by the third period and began seeking a technical fall. Morgan got a takedown with 11 seconds left to go up by 14, and with over three minutes of riding time, he got the technical fall he was after.
Fifth-ranked Andy Simmons got the Spartans back on the scoreboard with a decision at 141, but Zack Esposito and Kevin Ward closed out the dual with a major decision and a decision, respectively.
Oklahoma State will be home again on Sunday when ninth-ranked Iowa comes to Gallagher-Iba for a 1:30 p.m. dual.
