Cowgirl Soccer Heads To Lonestar State
September 29, 2004 | Cowgirl Soccer
Oklahoma State hits the road for its first conference road swing of the year this weekend. The Cowgirls will face a pair of tough opponents, traveling to ninth-ranked Texas A&M for an 8 p.m. contest on Friday and wrapping up the weekend against Texas at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Live stats will be available for both games on www. okstate.com. Texas A&M leads the overall series with the Cowgirls 8-0-1. The Cowgirls and Aggies battled to a scoreless tie last year in Stillwater. OSU posted a pair of wins against Texas in 2003, but trails the Longhorns in the all-time series 6-2-0. The Cowgirls won the regular-season meeting 3-1 in Stillwater and posted a 1-0 shutout in the first round of the Big 12 Tournament.
Head Coach Karen Hancock
Karen Hancock is in her ninth season at Oklahoma State and 11th season overall. Hancock built OSU's program from scratch in 1996 and the hard work paid off when the 2003 Cowgirls won the Big 12 Tournament and earned a first-ever trip to the NCAA Tournament. Hancock reached a coaching milestone last Friday against Louisiana-Lafayette, picking up her 100th career win.
