Cowgirl Soccer Defeats Louisiana-Lafayette, 6-1

The Cowgirls came out ready to play, finding the back of the net five times in the first period.
A pair of seniors, Jeré Boykin and Nikki Wojtowicz teamed up for the first goal of the night in the 18th minute. Wojtowicz fed Boykin a long pass as she broke down the right side of the field.
Wojtowicz earned the assist on the next two goals as well. The all-time OSU assist leader perfectly executed a corner kick at the 20:54 mark and Katie Lacey finished it off for her first goal of the season. Jolene Schweitzer put Oklahoma State up 3-0 after streaking down the middle of the field following a dish from Wojtowicz.
Colleen Henry scored the lone goal of the game for Louisiana-Lafayette off a cross from Kristina Nadolski in the 28th minute.
The Cowgirls gained additional breathing room on goals from Schweitzer and Candice Byler in the final 10 minutes of the half. Schweitzer was assisted by Adriane Radtke.
OSU's offense was much quieter in the second period and Cassie Lewis notched the final goal of the game in the 55th minute thanks to an assist from Carla Dolomont.
The Cowgirls outshot their opponent for the eighth time this season, taking 22 shots compared to ULL's eight.
Breanna Truelove played the first 59 minutes in goal, allowing the only score of the night. Jeanne Rankin closed out the game, making one save.
Oklahoma State (8-0-1) opens conference play on Sunday, hosting Missouri for a 1 p.m. contest.
