“It's a program that has great coaches and good athletes. Coming here on my visit made me feel like I was part of a family.”
Have you grown close to the rest of the fullbacks that are on the team?
“ We all have gotten pretty close to each other, with Shawn Willis, Julius Crosslin, and the rest of the guys. We all pretty much come from the same type of background, and we have become great friends.”
What surprises you most about this year's team?
“The leaders on the team come to practice like they want to win and they carry the team the best they can.”
What is the biggest asset you bring to the football field?
“My hands are pretty good, along with my speed. I can come out and catch the ball and make a play if they give me a chance.”
What has been the difference from high school and college?
“The speed has been a whole lot different from high school football. In high school we had lots of time after class and football to do whatever we wanted to. Now in college it seems like if your not in class, you are in football. I have been getting used to everything though.”
What do you like most about Coach Porter?
“He tells you how everything should be. He's a fun guy but when it comes down to business he can always tell what you are doing wrong and what you are doing right.”
You were injured in early summer, how has practice and all the rehab gone for you?
“I'm not quite 100 percent yet, but I'm getting really close to where I need to be. I can't really cut the way I want to when I'm running plays, but the leg is getting stronger every day.”
What do expect out of yourself as a freshman?
“I expect when I get healthy again that I can come out and give looks for all of the guys, even if it's on the scout teams and do the best I can do.”
