Cowgirl Soccer Edges Northwestern State, 4-2

The Cowgirls dominated in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead after outshooting the Lady Demons 13-to-1.
Adriane Radtke put OSU on the board with an unassisted goal at the 24:45 mark. Cassie Lewis made it 2-0 in the 31st minute. Lewis snuck inside the box to get a foot on a cross from Jolene Schweitzer for her first goal of the year.
Sasa Jackson scored her first goal as a Cowgirl 10 minutes into the second period on a double assist from Schweitzer and Nikki Wojtowicz. Wojtowicz served a corner kick into the box, the ball deflected off Schweitzer and Jackson found the back of the net.
Despite being down 3-0, Northwestern State kept fighting and it paid off at the 76:40 mark when Natalie Waguespack scored after the ball ricocheted off the post.
Thirty seconds later Alison Vaughn was fouled to set up a free kick by Wojtowicz. The senior caught the Lady Demon defense sleeping and put one in the upper left corner.
The teams continued firing away and NSU scored for the second time two minutes later. Heather Penico earned the goal after taking a feed from Julie Zavala down the left side.
Breanne Truelove played the first 45 minutes in goal, making one save. Jeanne Rankin faced three shots and gave up two goals in the second period.
OSU took a season-high 26 shots and nine corner kicks against the Lady Demons while holding NSU to just four shots and three corners.
Oklahoma State (6-0-1) returns to action on Sunday, hosting Sam Houston State at 1 p.m.
