Cowgirl Soccer Blanks Tulsa, 2-0

Oklahoma State's soccer team posted its first shutout of the season on Friday night, defeating Tulsa, 2-0, at the Hurricane Soccer & Track Stadium in front of 491 fans.

The Cowgirls controlled the first period but had nothing to show on the scoreboard until Jere Boykin came through in the 43^rd minute. Boykin was assisted by Nikki Wojtowicz and then bested TU's keeper, Pam Devore, in a one-on-one battle for her third goal of the year.

The Cowgirls defense was tenacious, sending the Golden Hurricane into halftime without taking a single shot in the first 45 minutes.

Oklahoma State did not waste time extending its lead, scoring less than two minutes into the second half. Ashlyn Brantley tallied her second goal of the year on an assist from Katie Lacey. Adriane Radtke took a corner kick and the ball deflected off Devore to set up the play.

The OSU defense maintained control for the remainder of the half, allowing the Cowgirls to come away with the 2-0 win. Breanna Truelove went the duration in goal, making one save.

The Oklahoma Shootout concludes on Sunday when OSU (4-0-1) takes the field against ORU at 5 p.m. and OU takes on TU immediately following.
