Cowgirls Take First at Tulsa

In the season opener, the Cowgirls were led by second-place finisher, freshman Mary Davies. Davies timed out at 10:22, eight seconds behind first-place winner, Miriam Kaumba, from Oklahoma Baptist University.
The Cowgirls won overall with their top five runners finishing in the top six spots.
Rounding out the top five were Cowgirls junior Barbara Kuncova (10:53), junior Michelle Prowse (11:12), and freshman Meagan Sodowsky (11:25). Two other Cowgirls found a way to finish in the top 10. Freshman Eva Tomankova (11:25) finished sixth, while sophomore Jennifer Edwards (11:59) finished 10th.
Oklahoma State finished with 20 points, while the University of Tulsa was second with 50 points and OBU was third with 63 points.
The Cowgirls will travel to Manhattan, Kan., on Saturday, Sept. 11 to compete in the Wildcat Invitational.
