Cowgirls Soccer Opens Regular Season

Oklahoma State's soccer team will open the 2004 season this weekend in Burlington, Vt., at the Vermont Soccer Tournament. The Cowgirls two opponents, Vermont and New Hampshire, both play out of the American East conference. Lafayette is also participating in the tournament.

The Cowgirls will play host school Vermont, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. The Catamounts posted a 5-9-4 record and return 14 letterwinners off last year's squad.

The Cowgirls will close out the weekend on Sunday against New Hampshire at 11 a.m. The Wildcats went 8-9-4 last year and return 19 letterwinners.

Oklahoma State's soccer team is coming off its most successful season in school history. The Cowgirls went 15-5-3 and won the Big 12 conference tournament. The team also qualified for the NCAA tournament for the first time in school history. The Cowgirls return nine starters, including two All-Big 12 selections.
