“ I don't know right now, but I'm excited about it. I just need to go in, and pay attention to the teachers. Hopefully, I will go in and maintain my grades.”
What do you expect out of yourself as a freshman?
“ Hard work every day because I have to get better.”
What impresses you the most about this offensive line?
“ We are very talented, with four returning starters that are real good. We just need to step up as a team and finish strong. Then take one game at a time.”
What has been the difference from high school to college football?
“The speed has been a big difference along with the strength, and you have to be smart every play. Getting in the weight room has made a big difference also.”
Sam Mayes is a preseason All-American in a few polls, how is it for you to learn from a talented player like him?
“I just need to study and watch him play. Then try to perfect what he does and try to keep getting better as the days go by.”
What is your biggest asset on the football field?
“I'm pretty smart on the field. I also bring strength and quickness.”
How much of a change has it been for you to be away from home for the first time?
“It hurts right now, but I got to be a man and get over it. Everybody might wanna go home because they're tired, but we all just have to step up and be men.”
Why did you choose Oklahoma State?
“I like the team because I thought we would go somewhere. The chemistry is so good, we just have to get better, and the offensive line coach Chuck Moller is a great coach.”
Who is the most competitive player you have gone up against while here at Oklahoma State?
“The whole defensive line is really strong, including Walter Thomas. He is a big strong son of a gun. He's probably the biggest guy I have ever gone up against.”
What was the biggest highlight you had in high school?
“We got to the semi-finals in my sophomore year, and we went 12-2. Then lost the last game at the goal line by an inch over the top.”
