“It gave me a lot of opportunities to start early before other freshmen and helped me see more things. I was around Greg Richmond and Antonio Smith and they were real good defensive ends.”
What do you feel like you can do to help the team as a freshmen?
“Work hard at practice, and fill in when it's my time to play.”
How has Coach Bailey influenced you this year?
“He wants us to get off the ball, work hard, and that's what we should do.”
You have been around both Coach Dunbar and Coach Bailey, can you tell a difference between the two?
“Not really, I can't tell the difference between the two coaches.”
What has been the biggest adjustment from high school to Division I?
“There's more athletes, so you have to bring your “A” game. I go up against guys like Corey Hilliard and Sam Mayes in practice. In high school you only see those types of players unless it's in the playoffs, and now in college I'll see them every game.”
What is your biggest asset you bring to the field?
“My speed is my biggest asset because I'm fast when I come off the corners.”
The defensive line is pretty young consisting of freshmen, sophomores, and then Clay Coe. You all are starting to look like a family with lots of enthusiasm, explain...
“We got to, because we have to bring all we got. Although we are still young, we're gonna come and play.”
The first game is in a couple of weeks at UCLA, how is it for you getting a chance to play your first college football game in the Rose Bowl?
“It will be nice if I get to play. That's what I'm looking forward to, and so is my family.”
Why did you choose Oklahoma State?
“It's a great place to play at. I like the coaches and the fans.”
