Cowgirl Soccer Picked Fifth In Big 12 Preseason Poll

to win the 2004 Big 12 soccer title in a preseason poll voted on by the head coaches
and released by the conference office.
The Aggies received six of 10 first place votes (Nebraska elected not to participate in
the poll) and totaled 84 points. Texas was second with 75 points and one first place
vote. Defending Big 12 champion Colorado placed third with two first place votes and
68 points followed by Kansas fourth with 59 points.
Oklahoma State, the 2003 Big 12 Tournament champion, was fifth with a first place vote
and 53 points and one first place vote. Missouri was sixth with 47 points, Oklahoma seventh
with 34 points and Baylor eighth with 24 points. Iowa State was tabbed ninth with 19 points
and Texas Tech rounded out the poll in 10th place with 10 points.

^Nebraska received 77 points from votes from the other 10 coaches, but elected not to participate in the voting.
Since coaches were not allowed to vote for their own team, the other 10 teams only received points from nine
voting coaches.
