Meet Brandon Pettigrew
August 18, 2004 | Cowboy Football
“It has been pretty good because of the nice people, and real good coaches.“
How has your first fall camp been?
“It's going pretty good and I'm getting better. I have a lot of stuff to work on, but I'm just a freshman. I'll get there.”
What do you expect out of yourself this year as a freshman?
“I think I can get in there and compete, and get things done to help the team win.”
So far, what has been the biggest adjustment from high school to Division I?
“The biggest adjustment is getting in there and competing with the older players. I need to be more physical and faster.”
Have there been any surprises about college football?
“Not really, coming in I expected the speed change and how physical everyone is.”
What is your biggest asset on the football field?
“Just being able to catch the ball. I have pretty good hands.”
Playing with guys like Billy Bajema and Charlie Johnson, what is it like learning from those guys?
“It's great learning from those guys. I just look at them because they are just so much better than I am. So I need to learn and get on the level where they are.”
Why did you choose Oklahoma State?
“It's a nice atmosphere. I like the people up here, they're nice people, I really like the coaches here.”
Finally, who did you choose Oklahoma State over?
“I chose Oklahoma State over Texas A&M. It was either going to be one of those two schools.”
