Cowboys Go Live For First Time
August 18, 2004 | Cowboy Football
A portion of the practice was devoted to live plays in a game situation that featured officials.
“We saw about 45 snaps of live action today,” Coach Miles stated. “We are building up the duration of our practices and are getting more acclimated to the higher temperatures.”
Donovan Woods is gaining valuable experience with each practice on how to run the offense and move the ball down field. He is getting a better feel for his passes and made some nice throws to his receivers.
“Donovan is playing pretty good at quarterback,” Miles said. “He has done a good job in everything we have asked him to do. We are real pleased with his effort.
“I think the offense had some success today. We scored twice on about 20 scrimmage plays, and had some significant plays.”
The Cowboys did see a few flags during the live portion of the practice. The coaching staff will be able to emphasize the mistakes so that they will not show up in the future.
The Cowboys will go back to holding two practices on Wednesday. The first workout will be conducted at 8 a.m. with an afternoon session to be held at 4 p.m.
