Cowgirl Cross Country Adds Transfer

Kuncova, a native of Doubravice, Czech Republic, brings with her a very talented resume to join the Cowgirl cross country team. She finished as champion in both the 2003 Czech Under 21 National 3,000m steeplechase and 5,000m.
Kuncova then recorded her best time of 10:12.10, in the 3,000m steeplechase. One of Kuncova's biggest accomplishments was a 15th-place finish in the World Mountain-Running Championships in Alaska in 2003.
In 2004, Kuncova finished fifth in the Eurocross Championship in Luxembourg with a time of 16:31 for 5000m.
“ We are excited to have this caliber of athlete lead our cross country team this fall,” said head coach Rene Sepulveda.
Following the cross country season, Kuncova will focus on the 5,000 meter run during the indoor track season and the 3,000 meter steeplechase for outdoor track for the Cowgirls this year.
