Brad Girtman
July 29, 2004 | Cowboy Football
2003: Girtman was one of three defensive linemen who contributed immensely as a true freshman. The Houston product played in all 13 games, and started against Texas A&M and Oklahoma during the regular season as well as against Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl. He finished the season with 27 tackles, including three quarterback hurries, on the year.
High School: One of the most sought after prospects in the country in 2002, Girtman was the Houston Touchdown Club's Defensive Player of the Year after a senior season in which he was nothing short of dominating. His size and speed speak for themselves, and he was amazingly effective against the run. Brad had over 120 tackles and nine sacks as a senior following a junior season in which he had 101 total tackles and six sacks. Other postseason honors he won included first-team All-Greater Houston, first-team all-district, and Texas Football top-20 defensive linemen. Brad chose Oklahoma State over Oklahoma, Nebraska, LSU, Florida and Texas Tech.
Personal: Born March 16, 1984, Brad is the son of Roxie Girtman. He has three older brothers: Brandon, Brock and Brent. Brad is undecided on his major at Oklahoma State, and enjoys spending time outdoors.
