2003: Buie started in nine of the Cowboys 13 games. He was bothered with a back injury that forced him to miss the SMU and Kansas State games, but he returned to start the next five contests. He suffered a leg injury against Kansas, which made him miss the Baylor game and the Cotton Bowl as well. He had a streak of 14 consecutive starts snapped against SMU.
2002: Buie made his 11th consecutive start against Southern Miss in the Houston Bowl. His first career start came against UCLA. He missed the spring season with an injury, but he's proven he is versatile enough to play a number of positions up front.
2001: Saw limited playing time along the offensive front that season.
2000: His redshirt season at Oklahoma State.
High School: Outstanding prospect who chose Oklahoma State over TCU, Missouri and Colorado State. Buie earned All-State honors from both the Tulsa World and the Oklahoma Coaches' Association. He had a spectacular senior season, during which he was credited with 84 tackles and nine sacks. He also returned one fumble recovery for a touchdown. A top-20 prospect in Oklahoma by recruiting services, Ben played high school football for coach Rick Jones. He was one of 11 players named to the Daily Oklahoman's Blue Chip list, and was generally regarded as one of the best defensive line prospects in Oklahoma. Additionally, he was ranked as the 52nd-best defensive tackle nationally by one recruiting service, and was selected to play in the Oil Bowl.
Personal: Born Jan. 26, 1982, in Tulsa, Ben is the son of Ken and Beverly Buie. He has a younger sister, Kendra. Snow skiing and water sports are his main hobbies. Ben is majoring in economics at Oklahoma State.
