Cowboy Golf Finishes 13th At NCAA Championship

The Cowboys entered the day tied for 13th place before posting their highest 18-hole score of the tournament to finish at 1,164, 44-over, and 30 shots behind tournament champion California. The Bears were the only team to break par during their final round, firing a 1-under 279 to finish six strokes in front of third-round leader UCLA.
UNLV's Ryan Moore ran away with individual medalist honors, finishing at 267, 13-under, after a final-round 66 to finish six shots clear of Wake Forest's Bill Haas and Arizona's Chris Nallen.
For OSU, freshman Tyler Leon carded a two-over 72 to finish at 284, 4-over, to finish in a three-way tie for 17th place. For the Dallas, Texas native, it marked his eighth top-20 in 14 starts this season.
Freshman Casey Wittenberg posted the squad's first sub-par round of the tournament with a 1-under 69 on Thursday to move up 14 spots into a tie for 24th place, while sophomore Zack Robinson slipped into 43rd place at 293, 13-over, after a final-round 76.
Sophomore Chris Clarke turned in a 77 to finish tied for 76th at 306, while junior Alex Norén carded a 79 to finish in 81st place at 318.
