Cowboy Olympians Get Tune-up for Summer Games

Eric Guerrero, Jamill Kelly and Daniel Cormier all won both of their matches helping the United States to a 28-1 victory over Spain on Saturday night, and a 26-3 victory over Georgia on Sunday night.
Guerrero pinned Spain's David Del Val in 77 seconds in his first match at 60 kg. It was one of two falls by the USA team. Former Fresno state wrestler Stephen Abas had the other at 55 kg.
Guerrero wrestled a tighter match against Georgia's Levan Chabradze, but still came away victorious with a 4-1 decision.
Jamill Kelly and Daniel Cormier each recorded tech falls against the Spanish team. Kelly needed five minutes, 31 seconds before dispatching Fernando Rodriguez 10-0. Cormier beat Nicolas Castro by the same score as Kelly, but did it in 3:26.
Kelly won his second match by forfeit, while Cormier recorded his second straight tech fall at 96 kg. Cormier defeated Georgia's Tamaz Gegeshidze by a count of 11-1.
Oklahoma State head coach John Smith was also honored by the U.S. Olympic Committee at the Titan Games. Smith was honored with a host of other former U.S. Olympic greats at the Bank of America Hometown Hopefuls Night of Champions.
