Tomankova Joins Cowgirls for 2004-05

The Kamenice nad Lipou, Czech Republic standout finished fourth in the European Junior Championships in the 200 meter steeplechase earlier this year. Tomankova was a four-time National Junior Champions while attending Obchodni Akademie T.G. Masaryka High School.
Tomankova has very impressive times in the 800 meter run, with a best of 2:12.51, and in the 1,500 meter run, finishing with a personal best of 4:29.25. She also recorded a personal best in the 3,000 meter with a time of 9:47.20.
In 2003, Tomankova set a Czech Republic Junior National Record in the 2,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 6:36.05.
“Eva is one of the most versatile distance runners that we will have for next year,” said head coach Rene Sepulveda. “She will be one of the top distance runners in the conference next year as a freshman.”
Tomankova comes from a family filled with running talent. Her mother ran the 800 meter run with a time of 2:08 while her father ran the marathon with a time of 2:12.
Tomankova will focus on cross country and during the track season she will focus the 1,500 meter run and 3,000 meter steeplechase.
