Alex Noren Selected To European Palmer Cup Team

Oklahoma State golfer Alex Norén has been chosen to compete as a member of the European squad at the 2004 Palmer Cup, it was announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Norén, a senior-to-be from Stockholm, Sweden, is coming off his best season at OSU, earning honorable mention All-America and first-team all-conference honors. He finished his junior campaign with a 72.8 stroke average and six top-10 finishes. Norén also led the squad with nine rounds in the 60s.
The eighth Palmer Cup presented by Monster will be played August 6-7 at Ballybunion Golf Club in County Kerry, Ireland. The first six Ryder Cup-style competitions were played between the United States and Great Britain and Ireland before expanding to all of Europe last year. A record six European nations will be represented in the 2004 event.
The U.S. leads the Palmer Cup presented by Monster Series, 4-2-1.
