Cowboys Pound Western Illinois 12-3

The top four hitters in the OSU (33-18) lineup went a combined 10-for-17 with seven RBIs. Junior second baseman Rusty Ryal led the way with four hits and three runs scored.
The Cowboys tied the game in the bottom of the first on an RBI groundout by Jason Jaramillo.
Sophomore shortstop Chris Gutierrez gave the Cowboys the lead with his fifth homerun of the season in the second inning.
OSU added four more runs in the bottom of the fourth. Keanon Simon hit a sacrifice fly after Rod Allen tripled to start the inning. Ryal and Ty Wright had back-to-back RBI doubles with two outs in the inning. Jason Jaramillo drove in his second run of the game with base hit to center field.
The Pokes and Leathernecks traded single runs in the sixth and seventh innings. OSU's run in the sixth came on a monster homerun by Rod Allen to make it 11-2. John Forrest pitched the ninth inning to close out the game.
OSU will play its final home game of the season at Allie P. Reynolds tomorrow afternoon against
