Texas Tech jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second on back-to-back RBI singles by Josh Brady and Cody Fuller.
OSU scored an unearned run in the bottom of the inning to cut the lead in half and the score remained the same until the sixth inning.
Tech added a run on another RBI single by Brady and stifled a Cowboy rally attempt in the bottom of the inning. Josh Fields led off with a single and with one out Scott Kirby followed with a line shot into the right-center field gap that appeared headed for extra bases, but right fielder Ryan Andrews made a diving grab for the out and fired to first to double up Fields.
Chris Gutierrez hit a solo homer in the seventh to cut the lead to 3-2, but Tech rallied for two runs in the eighth and another in the ninth to put the game away.
