Grogan (11-1) gave up just three runs on eight hits to earn the victory, while Brad Jensen (1-2) suffered the loss in relief for
Josh Fields evened the score in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI single off of a diving Simokaitis at shortstop.
John Grose gave the Huskers the lead with a solo homerun over the left field wall in the fourth inning.
Keanon Simon got on base via the walk to lead off the fifth inning. Chris Gutierrez failed to get a bunt down to advance the runner, but came through with an RBI double into the left centerfield gap to score Simon on a 0-2 pitch.
The Cowboys strung together three consecutive hits in the seventh inning and Jason Jaramillo and Scott Kirby staked OSU to its first lead of the game with an RBI single and an RBI double, respectively. The Pokes tallied four runs in the inning to take a 6-3 lead.
Gutierrez led the Cowboy attack with three hits on the afternoon, while Grose and Gordon each had two hits for the Cornhuskers.
