Cowboys Sweep Kansas State With 16-2 Win

The Cowboys swept the three game series and improved to 27-14 overall and 10-4 in league play, while the Wildcats fell to 22-19 on the year and 2-13 in the Big 12.
Senior hurler Daniel Rew (5-4) scattered 10 hits over 7.1 innings of work and picked up the win for the first time since March 20 against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. He allowed two earned runs with a walk and three strikeouts.
The Pokes, who had seven hits through the first seven innings, knocked 10 base knocks in the eighth, highlighted by Rod Allen's grand-slam homer, his eighth round-tripper of the year.
Scott Kirby had three hits on the day, while six other starters had two hits on the afternoon.
Jason Jaramillo's RBI single put OSU up 1-0 in the first inning, but KSU responded with a run of its own in the bottom of the inning on a RBI single by Brian Patty.
Josh Fields' RBI double in the third put the Pokes up by one and he scored on a single by Jaramillo to make it 3-1.
