The Cowboys led 5-4 in the ninth before taking advantage of erratic relief pitching by
OSU won its fifth straight conference game to improve to 25-14 overall and 8-4 in Big 12 action, while
Thomas Cowley allowed three runs in five innings of work with three walks and a strikeout to improve to 3-2 on the year. Scott Richmond pitched 3.1 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first save of the season.
Terry Blunt staked the Wildcats to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first as he led off with a solo homer to left, his second of the year.
Rod Allen put the Cowboys ahead in the second with a two-run homer to left, his team-best seventh of the year. OSU added a run in the third and another in the fourth on a RBI single by Ty Wright to extend the lead to 4-1.
Keanon Simon added a two-out RBI single in the fifth to make it 5-1.
The Cowboys and Wildcats will tangle in game two of the series tomorrow afternoon at
