Cowboy Golf In 10th Place At Boilermaker Invitational

The Cowboys opened the tournament with a seven-over 295 score before recording a 292 total in the afternoon. Host-school Purdue holds a commanding nine-shot lead after firing a 14-under total of 562 on its par-72, 7,200-yard home layout.
Junior Alex Norén continued his impressive play of late for OSU, opening play with a three-under 69 before finishing with a 73 to stand in a tie for 12th place at 142 and four shots off the individual lead held by Northwestern's Tom Johnson.
After opening with a round of 73, sophomore Chris Clarke climbed the leaderboard with a 70 during his second round to end the day tied with four other players for 14th place at 143.
Freshman Tyler Leon turned in rounds of 76 and 74 to finish in an eight-way deadlock for 50th place at 150, six-over, while fellow rookie Zac Reynolds will enter tomorrow's final round tied for 72nd place at 155 after posting scores of 77 and 78.
Making his second start of the season, senior Pär Nilsson carded an opening round of 81 before closing with a 75 to hold sole possession of 75th place at 156, 12-over.
The final round of play will begin tomorrow at 8 a.m. (CST).
