Cowboy Golf Finishes Fifth At National Invitational

The Cowboys began the day in ninth place before carding their lowest score in three days of action to finish with a 54-hole total of 865, one-over, and nine shots behind tournament champion Arizona State.
Individually, junior Alex Norén notched his second consecutive top-five finish, ending play tied with three other players for fifth place. The Stockholm, Sweden native followed up last week's runner-up finish at the Hall of Fame Invitational with a 212, four-under, score after a final-round 70 to finish five shots behind UNLV's Ryan Moore for individual medalist honors.
Sophomore Chris Clarke posted his best round of the spring, turning in a two-under 70 to move up 14 spots and tie for 18th place at 218, two-over. Joining Clarke in an eight-way deadlock for 18th was freshman Tyler Leon, who vaulted himself from a tie for 47th with a final-round 67 on his way to the fifth top-20 finish in his collegiate career.
Fellow freshman Zac Reynolds closed out the event with a 73 to come in at 220 and tied for 31st place, while sophomore Zack Robinson rounded out the OSU lineup with a 76 to finish in 57th place at 231, 15-over.
The Cowboys will return to action on April 10 when they travel to West Lafayette, Ind., for the Boilermaker Invitational.
