Cowboy Golf Finishes Eighth At Boilermaker Invitational

The Cowboys ended play with a 54-hole total of 884, 20-over, one shot off the pace of seventh-place Illinois. Purdue carded a final-round 293 to finish with a nine-under-par total of 855 and post a two-shot victory on its home course over Colorado.
Individually, junior Alex Norén posted his third consecutive top-five finish after a round of 72, giving him a 214 total and a tie for eighth place. The Stockholm, Sweden native finished eight shots behind Colorado's Kane Webber for individual medalist honors.
Sophomore Chris Clarke dipped from a tie for 14th place into a five-way deadlock for 21st place after a final-round 76 gave him a three-over 219 total.
Freshman Tyler Leon tallied his best round of the tournament with a one-over 73 to finish tied for 33rd at 223, while senior Pär Nilsson came in with a 76 on his way to a 232 total and a tie for 69th place.
Freshman Zac Reynolds rounded out the OSU lineup tied for 80th place with a 235 total after a round of 80 on Sunday.
The Cowboys will return to action on April 26 when they travel to Hutchinson, Kan., for the Big 12 Championship.
