Cowboy Golf Drops Back At National Invitational

The Cowboys will enter tomorrow's final round with a 36-hole total of 581, five-over, and 15 shots behind tournament leader Arizona State. OSU's starting five got off to a hot start with nine birdies on the front nine before struggling after the turn, combining to shoot 14-over-par on the back side.
Junior Alex Norén followed up yesterday's six-under 66 with an even-par 72 to maintain his position in second place at 138 and one shot off the pace of UNLV's Ryan Moore for the individual lead.
Freshman Zac Reynolds shaved three strokes off his first-round 75 with a 72 of his own to jump 15 spots into a tie for 28th place at 147, three-over-par, while sophomore Chris Clarke recorded his second consecutive 74 to come in at 148 and tied for 32nd place.
Freshman Tyler Leon started the day tied for 15th, but fell into a two-way tie for 47th at 151 after a seven-over 79.
Sophomore Zack Robinson finished the day tied for 49th place at 152 after back-to-back 76s.
The Cowboys will begin their final round tomorrow at 8 a.m.(MST) at the par-72, 7,138-yard layout.
