The Golden Eagles won their seventh straight game to improve to 10-1 on the year, while the Cowboys fell to 9-4.
USM led 2-1 in the fourth before scoring five runs in the fourth to break open the contest.
The Golden Eagles added eight runs on seven hits in the sixth inning to make it 15-1.
Cowboy second baseman Rusty Ryal had a RBI single in the sixth and Scott Kirby a three-run double to cut the score to 15-5. Kirby's hit extended his hit streak to 15 games.
Rightfielder Ryan Frith spanked a three-run homer to right-center in the seventh and second baseman Jarrett Hoffpauir roped a two-run shot to left in the eighth to make it 20-5. They added another run in the ninth to close out the scoring.
Southern Miss designated hitter Jody Blount staked the Golden Eagles to a 2-0 lead in the second with a homer to leftfield off of OSU starter Scott Richmond.
The Cowboys took advantage of a throwing error by third baseman Beau Griffin that allowed OSU first baseman Ty Wright to reach base and advance all the way to third as the ball went into the rightfield corner. Shortstop Chris Gutierrez hit a two-out RBI double to right that scored Wright to cut the lead to 2-1.
Oklahoma State will close out the tournament against Indiana State tomorrow at 11 a.m.
