Oklahoma State Rallies Past McNeese State, 7-6

Rightfielder Rod Allen had a RBI single in the ninth and would later score on a sacrifice fly by third baseman Josh Fields to make it 7-5.
McNeese scored a run off of Cowboy relief ace Daniel Rew in the bottom of the ninth and had the tying run at the plate when Rew came back to strike out centerfielder Dustin Schroer to pick up the win and move to 3-0.
OSU improved to 9-3 with the win while MSU fell to 7-9.
Fields led the Pokes with three RBIs, while Ty Wright, Rusty Ryal and Jason Jaramillo each had two hits in the winning effort.
OSU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second on a RBI double by left fielder Scott Kirby, which also extended his hit streak to 14 games.
McNeese tied the game in the bottom of the fifth on a two-out RBI single by third baseman Dustin Smith.
The Cowboys of Lake Charles scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh off of starter Spencer Grogan to take a 4-1 lead. Smith had a two-run triple and scored on a wild pitch by reliever John Forrest to account for the runs.
OSU took the lead in the eighth with a pair of two-run homers courtesy of Josh Fields and first baseman Ty Wright. It was the third homer of the year for Fields and the first career round-tripper for Wright.
McNeese tied the game in bottom half of the inning when right fielder Charlie Kingrey doubled to right-center scoring second baseman Brian Bernhardt who led off the inning with a walk off of closer Daniel Rew.
Oklahoma State will play Southern Miss in the second game today at approximately 4 p.m.
