Woolhouse Repeats as Mile Champ at Big 12 Indoors

Jason Woolhouse successfully defended his mile run title to lead a number of strong individual performances for the Cowboys this weekend, as the team finished 11th at the Big 12 Indoor Championships hosted by the University of Nebraska.
The senior finished the race in an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:03.19, and was trailed closely by teammate Ryan Ripley, who finished in sixth running a personal best time of 4:09.09.
Woolhouse also scored team points for the Pokes by finishing third in the 3,000m run in a time of 8:14.66.
Junior Scott Rantall amassed eight team points for the Cowboys by recording a pair of fifth-place finishes. The Australia native ran the 5,000m in 14:23 Friday evening, and followed that performance by finishing the 3,000m in 8:16 Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Daniel McLemore finished fifth in the 60m dash, blazing the course in 6.82 seconds.
Chris Stoves set his second school record of the month, this time in the 1,000m run, finishing third and stopping the clock in 2:22.88. The freshman set the 800m record two weeks ago at the Tyson Invitational.
Several Cowboys will look to take advantage of their last opportunity to qualify for the NCAA Championships next weekend, as they travel to Ames, Iowa, for the Iowa State Last Chance Meet on March 6.
