Cowboy Golf Finishes Second At Hall of Fame Invitational

The Cowboys, who wound up with three players in the top 10, finished with a 54-hole total of 852, 12-under-par, was six shots off the pace of tournament champion Arizona, which led wire-to-wire. The runner-up finish was OSU's second of the 2003-04 season and its sixth consecutive top-five finish this year.
Junior Alex Norén led the way in the individual race for the Cowboys, coming in as the only OSU player to break par during each round on his way to a runner-up finish. The Stockholm, Sweden turned in an eight-under total of 208 to finish six strokes behind the Wildcats' Chris Nallen for medalist honors.
Freshman Tyler Leon recorded the second top-five finish of his career after recording a three-under-par 69 on Sunday to end play at 210, six-under, and tied for fourth place, while fellow freshman Casey Wittenberg also cracked the top 10, finishing tied for ninth at 212.
Sophomore Chris Clarke competed in the event as an individual and carded his best round of the tournament on Sunday, checking in with a 73 to finish tied with six other players for 40th place at 222, six-over.
Sophomore Zack Robinson was also among those in the group tied at 222 after posting a 74 during his final round, while freshman Zac Reynolds rounded out the OSU lineup with a three-round total of 227, 11-over, to tie for 64th place.
The Cowboys will return to action on March 28 when they travel to Tucson, Ariz., to take part in the National Invitational.
