Cowgirl Soccer Opens Spring Season With Two Wins

The Cowgirls defeated UAB, a 2003 NCAA bubble team, 2-1 in the first game. Cassie Lewis assisted Jolene Schweitzer on the first goal of the day to give OSU a 1-0 lead.
UAB evened the score before intermission but Katie Lacey gave the Cowgirls the win in the second period, finding the back of the net off a corner kick from Nikki Wojtowicz.
Oklahoma State took on Ole Miss, a team that advanced to the second round of the 2003 NCAA tournament, in the second contest of the afternoon.
Schweitzer provided the early offense against the Rebels, taking the feed from Adriane Radtke. It would not be enough as Ole Miss tied the game in the second half and the contest ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
Schweitzer continued her impressive offensive showing against the Missouri Â86 ODP Team, leading the Cowgirls to a 2-0 shutout. The junior scored both of Oklahoma State's goals to up her total to four for the day. Schweitzer was assisted by Lauren Colwell on the first score and Radtke on the second.
Erin Corbin went the distance in net for the Cowgirls, earning all three decisions of the day.
Oklahoma State returns to action next Saturday, March 6, taking on Oral Roberts and Tulsa at the Cowgirl Soccer Complex.
