Cowboy Baseball Falls To Arizona State 3-2

The Cowboys attempted to rally with two outs in the ninth as rightfielder Felix Peguero had a base hit and was followed by first baseman Ty Wright who doubled into the right-center field gap. Second baseman Rusty Ryal ended the threat as he popped up to second with runners at second and third.
ASU improved to 18-3 overall, while
The Sun Devils jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first when rightfielder Travis Buck was hit by a pitch with two outs. He would later score on a RBI single by designated hitter Zechry Zinicola.
The Cowboys took advantage of a two-out fielding error by ASU and used back-to-back RBI singles by Josh Fields and Jason Jaramillo to take a 2-1 lead.
ASU tied the game in the fifth on a RBI single by Zinicola and took the lead on a RBI single by first baseman Joe Persichina.
Cowboy starter Daniel Rew (3-1) was tagged with his first loss of the year after giving up three runs on nine hits in 6.2 innings of work. He struck out four and walked three, before giving way to reliever Thomas Cowley in the seventh.
Sun Devil reliever Quentin Andes (3-0) pitched three innings of two-hit scoreless relief to pick up the win. Freshman Pat Bresnehan pitched the final 1.2 innings to pick up his fifth save of the year.
