Cowgirl Soccer Signs Five To National Letters of Intent

“We are very pleased with this class,” said head coach Karen Hancock. “We see a lot of potential in these girls and all have a chance to contribute immediately.”
Markaverich, a 5-5 forward/midfielder from Woodlands, Texas, was named the MVP at Woodlands High School and plays for the Houston Challenge club team. She is also four-year member of the South Texas State ODP Team and Region Camp attendee.
“Jamie is a very smart player;” commented Hancock. “She is expected to contribute immediately in the midfield or up front.”
A native Edmond, Okla., Jackson was a 2002 All-City selection and attended the prestigious ODP ESP National Camp in 2002. The 5-4 midfielder/forward has been a member of the Region III ODP Pool for five years and a member of the ODP team for two years. On the club level, she plays for Shockers ‘85 and is a former member of the Edmond Soccer Club, the 2001 State Champions.
“Sasa is the best player to come out of Oklahoma this year,” stated Hancock. “She is an impact player and we are excited about the skills she will bring to the field next year.”
Truelove, a 5-8 goalkeeper from Whittier, Calif., is a member of the Region 4 ODP Team. On the club level, she plays for the Newport Beach Slammers FC and the Irvine Strikers.
“Breanna has the build and mindset to play in goal at the Division I level,” said Hancock. “She is a great athlete and we believe she can lead us to another strong finish in the Big 12.”
Byler, a Laguna Niguel, Calif., native is member of the CYSA-South ODP State Pool. The 5-7 forward also plays for the Newport Beach Slammers FC and helped lead the squad to the Premier League Cup Championship in 2002.
“Candice is an incredible athlete and is fearless on the field,” stated Hancock. “She is aggressive when attacking and has the ability to make an immediate impact on the front line and score goals next season.”
Rossmoor, Calif., native Niccole Grimaldi rounds out the 2004 class. The 5-3 defender was named the Offensive MVP at Las Alamitos High School and to the Sunset League All-League 2002-03 Team. On the club level, Grimaldi plays for the Newport Beach Slammers, the Regional Champions in 2000 and Finalist in 2001. She is also a member of the CYSA-South ODP Team.
“Niccole is a very intelligent player,” commented Hancock. “She is quick on the field and is very strong.”
