Cowboy Golf Finishes Fifth At Puerto Rico Classic

The Cowboys began the day tied for 10th place before climbing five spots after posting the low total during the final round of play. OSU came in 16 shots behind tournament champion Florida and six shots behind fourth-place Georgia.
Individually, freshman Tyler Leon posted his first career top-five finish after firing the low individual round of the day, a four-under 68 to finish in sole possession of second place. The Dallas, Texas native's total of 208, eight-under-par, was one stroke off the pace of Clemson's Matt Hendrix for individual medalist honors.
Fellow freshman Casey Wittenberg carded his best round of the tournament, coming in with a two-under 70 to move into 14th place at 216, while sophomore Zack Robinson rebounded from a second-round 76 with a three-under 69 during his final round, vaulting him from a tie for 52nd into a deadlock for 24th place at 219, three-over-par.
Freshman Zac Reynolds finished with a seven-over 79 to tie for 74th place at 233, while sophomore Chris Clarke rounded out the Cowboy lineup with a two-over 74 to end play at 235, 19-over-par, and tied for 78th place.
OSU will return to action on March 15 when it travels to Austin, Texas for the Morris Williams Intercollegiate.
