Cowboy Golf Drops To 10th Place At Puerto Rico Classic

The Cowboys entered the day tied with Virginia for seventh place and their 36-hole total of 590, 14-over, is 27 strokes off the pace of tournament leader Oklahoma. The Sooners fired an eight-under, 280 on Monday at Rio Mar Country Club's Ocean Course and will take a three-stroke lead over Florida into the final round.
Individually, freshman Tyler Leon continued his steady play for the Cowboys, recording a 71 during his second round to move to four-under, 140, and a fifth-place tie. The Dallas, Texas, native will enter tomorrow's final round three shots behind individual leader Matt Hendrix of Clemson.
Fellow freshman Casey Wittenberg carded his second consecutive 73 and ended the day tied for 25th place at 146, two-over.
Sophomore Zack Robinson followed up yesterday's 74 with a 76, tying him for 52nd place.
Freshman Zac Reynolds will enter his final 18 holes tied for 68th place after a 78 on Monday, giving him a two-round total of 154, 10-over.
Sophomore Chris Clarke rounded out the OSU lineup with an 80, placing him in a tie for 86th place at 161.
The Cowboys will tee off at 7:30 a.m. (CST) at the Rio Mar River Course, site of the first round of play.
