McClain Set School Records

Junior Halee Prickett finished first in the shot put with a distance of 15.30 meters (50' 2.5”), setting the meet record. The previous meet record was 49' 8.5” set by Oklahoma's Bambi Carson in 1999. The distance was also good for an NCAA Provisional mark.
Senior Delisa McClain also set a school and meet record in the weight throw competition, with a distance of 18.38 meters (60' 3.75”), which was good enough for a first place finish and just five inches shy of an NCAA Provisional mark. The previous meet record was 58' 9.25” set by Missouri Southern's Danee Jones last year.
Junior Paula Ogunbanjo took first place in the triple jump with a distance of 15.30 meters (50' 2.5”), marking the second first place finish for the Houston, Texas native.
The Cowgirls will return to action when they head to Lincoln, Neb. for the Big 12 Championships beginning on Feb. 27.
