February 22, 2004 | Cowboy Baseball
Rew scattered seven hits and struck out two with three walks to pick up his first win of the year. After giving up 14 runs in the first two games, OSU (4-2) came back to allow just one run in the final two contests.
The Cowboys took advantage of two DBU (7-3) errors to score four runs in the third inning to jump out to a 4-0 lead. OSU's first two runs came via errors, while centerfielder Keanon Simon had a RBI triple and Josh Fields plated him with a sacrifice fly to account for the last two runs in the inning.
Dallas Baptist scored in the bottom of the seventh on a RBI double by first baseman Daniel Magness.
The Patriots two-out rally attempt in the eighth was thwarted by reliever Brett McDonald who struck out former Cowboy Craig Bartosh who was the tying run with two men on.
McDonald closed out the game in the ninth, striking out shortstop Ben Zobrist to pick up his first save of the year.
