Gerlach, who transferred to OSU at mid-year, will vie for time at first base and possibly the outfield.
2002-03: Played one year at Lethbridge Community College in Lethbridge, Alberta ... batted .320 with five homers and 45 RBIs .... also considered Oregon State and Coastal Carolina.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a outfielder/first baseman at St. Albert High ... helped lead team to three straight provincial championships ... played for the St. Albert Tigers in summer league in 2002-03 ... was the team’s top hitter, batting over .400, in leading the team to the Western Canadian championships.
PERSONAL: A business major ... son of Gord and Debbie Gerlach ...born December 8, 1983 ... has one sister, Lisa ... plays hockey and the drums in his spare time ... chose OSU because of its excellent baseball tradition and the chance to play in a great conference.
