Jaramillo, a preseason All-American, is one of the top catchers in the country and will be counted on to lead the team both offensively and defensively this year.
2003: Was a third-team All-American by Collegiate Baseball ... led the team with a .385 batting average with nine homers and 42 RBIs ... batting average was fifth best in the conference ... was a first-team All-Big 12 choice by the coaches and the Dallas Morning News ... started in 55 of 57 games played ... was second on the team with 26 multi-hit games ... also had nine multi-RBI games ... second on the team with 18 doubles ... .606 slugging percentage was also second best on the team ... switch hitter batted .365 against lefties and .396 against righthanders ... tied a school record with a three-homer performance against Texas (4/24) ... also had seven RBIs in that contest and 11 in the three-game regular season series against the Longhorns ... was named Big 12 Player of the Week after going 5-for-10 with four homers and 11 RBIs against UT ... recorded four-hit games against Texas-Pan American (4/16) and Nebraska (5/11) ... had a five RBI game against Kansas State (4/4) ... sported a .976 fielding percentage behind the plate and threw out 18 base runners attempting to steal ... also led the team with five pickoffs ... played for the Orleans Cardinals in the Cape Cod League in the summer, with current teammate Rod Allen ... helped lead the team to the Cape championship.
