Cowboy Golf Moves Into Third Place At Mercedes-Benz Collegiate

The Cowboys entered the day in sixth place after opening play with a 20-over, 308 team score on Sunday. OSU will begin play tomorrow 20 shots off the pace of tournament leader South Carolina and seven strokes behind second-place Clemson.
Freshman Casey Wittenberg moved into the top 10 and within striking distance of the individual lead with a two-under-par 70 on Monday. The Memphis, Tenn., native finished the day tied for sixth place at 145, one-over and is three shots off the lead held by Kentucky's Mark Blakefield, Tennessee's David Skinns and South Carolina's Jake Thompson.
Junior Alex Norén finished his second round with a flurry, recording birdies on four of his last seven holes to come in with a one-over 73. The Stockholm, Sweden native is currently tied with eight other players for 19th place at 149, five-over-par.
Sophomore Zack Robinson shaved five strokes off his opening-round total of 77 with an even-par 72 on Monday. The Ft. Worth, Texas native moved up six spots and is among the group tied for 19th place.
After posting a first-round 80, senior Pär Nilsson rebounded with a two-over-par 74 and moved into a six-way tie for 44th place at 10-over-par, while freshman Tyler Leon rebounded from an 82 on Sunday with a 74 to come in two shots off Nilsson's pace at 156, 12-over, and tied for 53rd place.
OSU will begin its final round at the par-72, 6,985-yard layout tomorrow morning at 9:30.
