Cowgirls Compete in Season Opener

STILLWATER, Okla. - Oklahoma State's women's track and field team will open the 2004-2005 season at the KSU All Comers Meet in Manhattan, Kan., on Saturday.

The Cowgirls will look to have good performances from the throwers at the first meet of the year.

“This is an important meet for our throwers,” head coach Rene Sepulveda said. “This meet will give a few of them a chance to qualify for the post season.”

Senior Delisa McClain, who is a returning NCAA Outdoor qualifier and Senior Halee Prickett are two Cowgirls that are expected to have strong showings this season.

Freshmen Deleanor Kirkpatrick and Brandi Broaddus will be throwing in their first collegiate competition.

The jumpers will not jump on Saturday, but will run in the short distance competitions.

Kansas State will host the meet, with the field events starting at 10:00 a.m.
