Wrestlers Fare Well at CMSU Open

Freshman Nathan Morgan was the lone Cowboy to win a title, winning all five matches. The Bakersfield, Calif. native defeated two Misouri wrestlers to get through the 133-pound bracket. Morgan defeated Amond Prater in the semifinals, 6-4, and Tyler McCormick in the finals, 7-4.
Redshirt freshman Ryan Freeman won nine matches en route to finishing in third-place at 157. The native of Springfield, Mo., defeated Justin Wood of Central Oklahoma, 6-5, to win the consolation bracket. Freeman's only loss came to teammate Newly McSpadden.
Freshmen Ryan Davis and Coleman Scott also came away with third-place finishes. Davis defeated Missouri's Marcus Hoehn at 141, while Scott defeated Nathan Peterson of Stanford to win the consolation bracket at 125.
McSpadden took fifth-place at 157 when Central Oklahoma's Jerod Goodwin defaulted.
The Cowboys will travel to Omaha, Neb., to compete in the UNO Open on Saturday, Nov. 20.
