Head Coach Les Miles On backing up Darrent Williams:
“I think that Daniel McLemore will play more football. Ricky Coxeff and Martell Van Zant are other players that can step in and play as well.”
On Nathan Peterson:
“I think Nate had a great start from the first game. I think that the way he is playing will be great for him to have a successful career. He is a hard worker and he gets better every week.”
On falling under the radar in the national rankings:
“We have not fell under the radar in the Big 12 conference in quite sometime. I don't believe that there is a cloaking device that hovers over Stillwater. I promise you that Colorado knows who they're facing, I know Kansas State knew who they were facing a year ago. I know that the teams in this league understand that we are a team that can beat them. Nationally we are several weeks down the road.”
On preparing offensively for Colorado:
“I think we have to be sharper on our execution offensively against Colorado but I think that we will come out and play better this week. I think that our offense is in good shape we just need to improve on a couple of key areas. If we do so we'll move the football on most of the teams we play.”
On being 4-0:
“I enjoy the position of where this team is in. There is certainly great motivation to play better and improve each week.”
On Colorado:
“They are a good football team because they have talent on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball. I think that they're playing well as a team and the team is playing enthusiastically. Colorado is committed to play hard and is a well coached team. We are going to have to play hard to win.”
On playing at Colorado:
“I have always enjoyed Folsom Field, I really think that it is a beautiful setting for a football game. When I was at Colorado I enjoyed a lot of great Saturdays there and there were times when Colorado's opponents also had great Saturdays. It seemed that the teams that we played against while I was on staff at Colorado never had any problems with the elevation. Hopefully, we will be successful like the teams that have gone in and won in Colorado.”
Defensive Back Jamar Ransom
On the secondary's role in pressuring the quarterback
“A key thing is that we really try to disguise what we are doing and keep speed on the boundaries. The secondary has a relationship with the defensive line with our timing and our spacing. The secondary comes up big to help the defensive line.”
On the focus of practice
“More than anything, the ability to create turnovers, to be at the point of attack, and to not only attack the ball carrier but the ball at the same time.”
Fullback Shawn Willis
On his role
“It feels good that the coaches think enough of me that the offense can run behind me and know that I'm going to get the job done. It seems to be paying off, Morency had over 100 yards. Our running game is pretty much set, and the Big 12 is going to realize that we have a pretty strong running game.”
On carrying the ball
“I get a lot of satisfaction out of carrying the ball. In high school I was a tailback, so I like getting to run a little bit.”
On the team's improvement
“When we started out this summer, everybody said we were going to try to get better. The coaches have instilled it in us that we are going to get better. That's what we go out there and try to do every week. We were coming off a bye week before this game, and we worked as hard as we possibly could to get better. I think that's showing on both sides of the ball.”
Linebacker Lawrence Pinson
On Colorado
“I really think they are a great team, they look real good on film. The line is real big and physical up front. I think they're surprising a lot of people, they have really been playing hard and playing well.”
On playing on the road
“I think that it will be a great atmosphere. We are going out there with the attitude that we need this to stay undefeated. We are really excited about it, and we do not want anybody to take that away from us. I have heard it is tough to breathe at times, but we do not really think about that.
