“It was a great accomplishment by our girls,” head coach Rene Sepulveda said. “Last year we finished 12th, and this year we finished third, right behind two highly ranked teams.”
The Cowgirls also got a strong performance from junior Valentina Medina, as she finished 19th.
“Valentina was impressive, as she competed in her first meet of the year, and finished in the top 20,” Sepulveda said.
With Kuncova, Davies, Prowse and Medina part of the Cowgirls top five they had freshman Eva Tomankova step in for Kim Blomkvist, as Blomkvist was not able to compete, due to having the flu.
“Eva did a great job handling running in the fifth position, as she was able to score for us,” Sepulveda said.

The Cowgirls will now prepare for the District V Regional Championships in Peoria, Ill, on Nov. 13, that includes the ninth ranked Missouri Tigers.
