Terrence was invaluable as a leader during last seasons Final Four run, and as one of the most experienced players on the court, that leadership should flourish this year. T.C. came to Oklahoma State as a guard, but he proved his worth in the post area last season. He has been hampered by injuries throughout his collegiate career, but has made the best of the situations, and is looking good entering his senior season.
2003-04 (Junior): Terrence sat out the first six games of the season, and saw his first game action in 21 months when he stepped on the court against Arkansas on Dec. 20. His minutes steadily increased, and he played half the game vs. Baylor in Waco on Feb. 28. In that game, he scored nine points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor, while also connecting on his only free-throw attempt. He also had three rebounds, three steals and two assists in that game. His three thefts tied a career high. T.C. scored six points against Baylor in Stillwater on Feb. 14, and matched that total with six against the Texas Longhorns in the finals of the Big 12 Tournament. He grabbed six rebounds in 15 minutes on Feb. 24 at Missouri, and had 14 games with three or more rebounds. Terrence also had seven multi-assist games, and six multi-steal contests. He was named second-team Academic All-Big 12 for his efforts in the classroom.
2002-03 (Redshirt): Terrence sat out the 2002-03 season after rupturing his achilles tendon during preseason practice.
2001-02 (Sophomore): Terrence scored five points, grabbed five rebounds and had an assist in 15 minutes vs. Kent State in the NCAA Tournament. He tied a career high with 12 points vs. Texas Tech in the Big 12 Tournament, connecting on 5-of-8 shots from the floor. T.C. did not play in the Missouri game due to illness. He scored nine points on 4-of-5 shooting vs. Texas. Terrence dished out a career-high five assists at Texas A&M and had no turnovers. He scored the game-winning field goal vs. Texas Tech with 5.3 seconds remaining in Gallagher-Iba Arena, and finished with eight points on 3-of-4 shooting, including two free throws. Terrence grabbed five rebounds, a season high, vs. New Orleans.
2000-01 (Freshman): Terrence suffered a knee injury Dec. 19 and missed eight games. He returned to the lineup Jan. 24 and did not attempt a shot but played 14 minutes and had two rebounds and two assists against Texas A&M. His best effort after suffering the injury was an 11-point showing against Texas Tech on Feb. 26. Terrence notched a strong effort against Kansas with seven points in 20 minutes of action. He scored 12 points, had four assists and three steals vs. North Texas. He scored eight points against UALR before being injured. In an exhibition game, Terrence received a starting assignment against California All-Stars and had 12 points along with seven rebounds.
High School: Terrence averaged 21 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game as a senior while leading McGuinness to a 26-3 record and its third-consecutive Class 4A state championship. He was named the Little All-City Player of the Year by the Daily Oklahoman, and was on the Faith 7 Basketball Bowl team representing Oklahoma against Texas. Terrence was named to the Oklahomans Super 5 All-State team, and was the Tulsa World Player of the Year and Gatorade Oklahoma High School Player of the Year. He averaged 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4.7 assists as a junior. Terrence lettered four years while playing for coach Garry Looper.
Personal: Born Feb. 4, 1982, in Oklahoma City, Terrence is the son of Carolyn & Larry Orton and Ricky Crawford. He has two brothers, Daniel Orton and Antone Crawford. Terrence graduated in May of 2004 with his degree in marketing, and will work on graduate work this fall and spring. His uncle, Tony Farmer, was a former player at Nebraska and in the NBA where his career included stints with the Charlotte Hornets and the Golden State Warriors.
