Cowboy Golf Finishes Fifth At Jerry Pate Intercollegiate

The No.1-ranked Cowboys, who entered the day tied with Georgia Tech for first, ended play with a 54-hole team total of 835, 17-under, to finish 10 shots behind tournament champion Augusta State.
Individually, sophomore Tyler Leon carded his second consecutive 69 to tie for 10th place at 208, 5-under, giving him his second top-15 finish in two outings this fall. The Dallas, Texas native came in five shots off the pace of individual medalist Kalle Edberg of Augusta State.
Competing in his first event of the season, junior Chris Clarke entered the day one shot off the individual lead before posting a 1-over 72 to slip into a tie for 16th place at 209.
Sophomore Ryan Posey wrapped up his first career start for the Cowboys with an even-par 71 to finish in sole possession of 23rd place with a 210 total, while junior Zack Robinson carded a 71 of his own to tie for 24th place at 211, 2-under.
Freshman Pablo Martin, who won his first collegiate outing at the Ping/Golfweek Preview, rounded out the OSU lineup with a 212 total to finish alone in 31st place.
The Cowboys will return to action on Oct. 25 when they travel to Windermere, Fla., to take part in the Isleworth Invitational.
